CamBot XY allows the camera to be positioned anywhere on the studio floor, while providing remote control/programming of all axes, including pan, tilt, zoom, focus, elevation, and floor position.

CamBot’s consistent preset recalls combined with an open API and networked control architecture make them the perfect camera system for Automated Production Control solutions, including Ross OverDrive, and all major third-party solutions.

Offering the highest maximum net payload at 90 kgs (200 lbs), two head options and two choices of lifts, CamBot XY pedestals accommodate payloads of all shapes and sizes.

Features

Unbeatable Accuracy

CamBot’s unique two-wheeled design uses differential steering to eliminate the rapid accumulation of floor-error that plagues caster-based designs. Unlike external bolt-on floor-positioning systems, it requires no external markers (other than a single floor target) or sensors, yet still provides the best accuracy in the industry.

On Target

Homing is based on image analysis technology that requires zero maintenance, provides millimeter accuracy, and takes just seconds to complete.

Hands On Driving

CamBot’s local control module instantly converts the system to a manually operated pedestal and pan-tilt head. Because motors and encoders remain engaged at all times, the robot continues to track its position, eliminating the need for re-homing once it is returned to full robotic control. It is the simplest, most convenient manual control solution available today.

Track-Star

All CamBot XY-pedestals offer high resolution virtual tracking data on all seven axes. Combined with its unbeatable floor accuracy, it’s ideal for augmented reality and virtual sets. The pedestals always know where they are, even in local mode, and continue to send accurate tracking data on all axes (including XY) when operated manually.

Multiple Options

CamBot now utilises the full power of MotionDirector, providing naturally smooth and synchronized key-framed moves, built around gracefully curved floor trajectories; unique signature shots by recording manual (joystick) movements overtop of keyframed moves and the flexibility to make in-flight manual corrections from the joystick panel.

Models

600XY-S2

With its breakthrough entry-level price-point, the new 600XY-S2 enables a whole new segment of robotics users to take advantage of the flexibility and versatility of free-roaming robotic pedestals.

600XY-S2 combines the S2 Lift with a 600PT head. With a net payload of 125 lbs (57 kg), 600XY-S2 can handle most of today’s studio camera configurations, including ENG/EFP-style cameras and lenses, with full-sized prompters, talent monitors, clocks, and tally lights.

 

600XY-S3

The mid-range 600XY-S3 combines the price benefits of the smaller payload 600PT head with a 50% increase in elevation range (i.e. difference between min and max elevation) over 600XY-S2. By mounting the 600PT head on the heavy-duty 3-stage lift from the flagship 700XY, a wider range of shots is achieved, including the ability to naturally cover both standing and seated talent positions.

 

700XY

At the top of the range sits the market-leading 700XY, whose payload capacity, accuracy and reliability are unmatched. With a 200 lbs (90 kgs) net payload, 700XY can support the largest box lens and studio camera combinations still in use today.
